Pi Sigma Alpha (ΠΣΑ)
Pi Sigma Alpha, Eta Eta Chapter at NMSU, is a National Political Science Honor Society that recognizes academic excellence in political studies. The organization aims to provide students the opportunity to explore topics in politics, government and public policy in order to build a group of like-minded people passionate about engaging in and advocating for vibrant and energetic public discourse.

Why Join Pi Sigma Alpha?
We seek to enable students to meet outside the classroom and engage in meaningful activities involving American politics, international relations, and other current political issues. We hope to provide a forum for students in the world of politics and current events to engage these issues with like-minded students.
Activities Include:
- Attending the annual National Student Research Conference in Washington D.C. each February
- Register for POLS 406 (1-credit)
- Chapter Grants and on-campus activities
- Local community organization and volunteering
- Brown bags and speaker series
- Professional development and internships

Interested in Joining?
Chapter Member Requirements (Open to all Freshman, Sophmores, Juniors, and Seniors):
- Interested in political science related topics.
- No credit completion requirements.
- An average GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Students of Any MAJOR may join.
- No chapter dues
National Member Requirements (Open to Sophmores, Juniors, and Seniors)
- Completion of at least half of the credits required for the baccalaureate degree;
- Completion of at least 10 semester credits of work in political science (government), including at least one upper-division course;
- An average grade of B or higher in all courses in political science;
- A grade point average of 3.2 or higher.
- Students of ANY MAJOR may join.
- For graduate students currently enrolled at New Mexico State University:
a) Completion of at least nine graduation credits in political science with no grade lower than B. - National membership dues $35.00 (one-time Lifetime Membership fee) to National Office

To apply to the Eta Eta chapter of New Mexico State University, please send a completed Membership Application Form and a copy of your degree audit to the organization's email: nmstatepsa@gmail.com. In the subject line, please write “MEMBER APPLICATION: Full Name”. Applicants that meet all requirements will also be sent a link to register for national membership.
