Roque M. Lujan Scholarship for the Study of Public Administration and Government
This $1,000 scholarship is awarded annually to a new or continuing graduate student enrolled in one of the Department’s two graduate programs in recognition of superior academic performance and a demonstrated commitment to public service. It is supported through an endowed fund established by the Roque M. Lujan family and generous gifts from Mr. Angel Saenz.
Recipients must have at least one semester remaining in graduate studies and must have a graduate GPA of at least 3.25 or an undergraduate GPA of at least a 3.5 (for incoming students). Recipients will have a demonstrated commitment to public service as evidenced by work experience and/or volunteer service. Preference (not limited to) will be given to Hispanic women who are natives of Dona Ana County, New Mexico, which should be noted in the personal statement.

Applications will be reviewed by the Department Head, MPA Director and a representative of the Lujan family or Mr. Saenz. The award will be presented at the Government Department Awards Luncheon in April of each year, and the recipient is expected to attend.
